Setting up the Nexus integration takes a few minutes and only needs to be done once for your office. Once it is set up, the users you choose can import properties from Nexus and link existing Rex properties to their Nexus records.
This article covers who can set up the integration, how to activate it, how to name the connection, and how to give users permission to import.
🔒 Who Can Set Up the Integration?
Only users with the privilege to manage integrations can see and activate integrations in Rex. If you can't see the Integrations page, or you see the message "You don't have rights to access the integrations page of the administration section", ask your Rex admin to set up the integration for you.
Your agency also needs its own Nexus subscription. Rex connects to your existing subscription, it does not supply the data.
How Do I Activate the Nexus Integration?
- Go to Settings > Admin > Integrations.
- Click the Discover tab.
- Find the Nexus tile:
- New Zealand accounts: Valocity Nexus
- Australian accounts: REIP Nexus
- Click Activate.
- Follow the prompts to sign in with your Nexus login and give the connection a name.
- Save the connection.
❗ Please Note: Activating the integration does not give anyone access to import properties, including the admin who activated it. Continue to the permission steps below.
What Should I Name the Connection?
The connection name is what everyone in your office sees in the Applications menu, at the top of the import screen and in the Third Party Extensions panel on property records.
We recommend naming it after your subscription, so your team recognises it straight away:
- New Zealand: Valocity Nexus
- Australia: REIP Nexus
How Do I Give Users Permission to Import Properties?
Each user who will import properties needs the Property Import permission on the Nexus connection. This includes you, if you will be importing.
- Go to Settings > Admin > Integrations.
- Open your active Nexus connection.
- Go to the Users section.
- Click the action menu (⋯) next to the user.
- Select Edit Permissions.
- Tick Property Import.
- Save, then repeat for each user who needs access.
❗ Please Note: Users also need their usual Rex privileges to create and update properties. Without the Property Import permission, users see the message "Your current credentials don't have the required permissions to bulk import properties" on the import screen.
To remove a user's access, follow the same steps and untick Property Import.
How Do I Rename the Connection?
If your Applications menu or property records show an old or unexpected name, rename the connection:
- Go to Settings > Admin > Integrations.
- Open your active Nexus connection.
- Update the connection name and save.
The new name appears for everyone in your office.
What Happens After the Integration Is Set Up?
Users with the Property Import permission can open the connection from the Applications menu and sign in with their own Nexus login to start importing and linking properties. For the steps, see Nexus (Valocity NZ / REIP AU) Integration: Importing and Linking Properties.
❓ FAQs
Why can't I see Nexus under Integrations?
You need the privilege to manage integrations to see this page. If you have it and still can't see the Nexus tile, check that your account is in Australia or New Zealand, as the integration is not available in the UK.
Does each user need to activate the integration?
No. An admin activates it once for the whole office. Each user then signs in with their own Nexus login when they first import or open a property in Nexus.
We have offices in Australia and New Zealand. How do we set this up?
Each office activates the integration in its own Rex account and connects the Nexus subscription for its own country.
Our Applications menu says REIP Nexus, but we're in New Zealand. Is something wrong?
No. That is the name your admin typed when the connection was first set up. Rename the connection using the steps above.
