The Xero integration allows you to export invoices from Rex into Xero, sync payments received from Xero back into Rex, and apply them to the relevant invoice.
Before you can sync, you need to connect Rex to Xero and map your invoice accounts. See Xero Invoicing: Invoice Settings to set up your account mapping.
Syncing Invoices to Xero
To sync invoices to Xero:
- Go to Financials > Sync Invoices in the left side menu
- In the Invoices list, click the checkbox on the invoices you would like to sync
- Click the red Sync button in the top right
You may see errors in some of the following cases:
- An invoice does not have an account code mapped to it.
- To fix this, click on the invoice and set an account code on the associated line item.
- One or more account codes are not mapped to Xero.
- See Xero Invoicing: Invoice Settings for how to map Rex and Xero account codes.
You may also choose to ignore an invoice for the purposes of syncing. To do so:
- Go to Financials > Sync Invoices in the left side menu
- In the invoices list, hover over the invoice you would like to ignore
- Click the menu dropdown and click Ignore invoice
- This will hide the invoice from the Sync Invoices list
Syncing Payments from Xero
Rex also supports syncing invoice payments back into Rex against the original invoice. This will create a payment against the relevant listing and invoice. If overpayments are enabled, they will also be created if applicable (except for bills).
To sync payments into Rex:
- Go to Financials > Sync Invoices in the left side menu
- In the payments list, click the checkbox on the payments you would like to sync
- Click the red Sync button in the top right
