Rex and many other Web applications have what is called an API (Application Programming Interface). This allows different applications to talk to each other and share information.
When we talk about Third Party Integration of Extensions, we're talking about being able to set up a connection between Rex and another Application or Service provider.
Using Third Party Integrations
There are a number of existing Integrations available and all behave a little differently, though they do share a few common characteristics:
- They are commonly accessed in appropriate modules via the right bar on Rex records (Contacts, Properties and/or Listings)
- Where available, they expose a control panel or additional functionality via the 'Apps' menu
- Integrations can be managed, and permissions applied, from the 'Admin / Integrations' menu
- Integrations can be locked down on a per-user basis restricting access to the integration in general
