Sometimes you might find you need to reassign a listing to a different property record. Here are some examples of why this might happen:
Example 1: You have a land listing and you duplicate it so you don't have to rewrite the same listing content. However, if you then change the address on one, it'll change it on both records. You'll need to assign one of the other listings to a different property.
Example 2: You have Properties that are the same, but spelled slightly differently (i.e. 1 Smith Street vs. 1 Smith St). You want to delete one of the records, but it has historic listing data attached. In this case, you need to reassign all of the Listings attached to the Property you wish to delete.
There are other situations when you'd need to perform this, but all follow the same process.
To re-assign, you need to follow the below steps:
- Go to the Listing you want to reassign
- Click More > Reassign to Another Property
- Type in the correct Property Record you wish it to be associated with
- If it does not exist, just click Add New Property
- Enter the details of the new property
Your Property will now be attached to its own Property Record and you'll be able to change the address without changing the other Listing's address.
