Marketing Credits are used for sending newsletters and SMS messages to your contacts.
Rex uses an external email infrastructure/deliverability provider to provide read/open/click reporting and additional deliverability services (which are designed to lower the rate of spam listing of the emails).
This allows you to send Newsletters to your contacts without it being recognised as spam. The cost associated with this allows you to track the campaigns within Rex. You can see how many contacts received the campaign, opened the campaign, whether any contacts have unsubscribed as well as showing email addresses that have bounced or are marked as invalid. The first 250 emails in each Newsletter campaign are sent free of charge. This caters for sent emails which bounce back.
What marketing credit plans are available?
Marketing credits can be bought on an ad-hoc basis (where credits are bought in bulk) or as a monthly marketing plan.
Monthly plans: These plans reset every month, giving you the same number of credits to use every month. Credits don't accumulate from month to month. Credits not used at the end of the month are lost.
Adhoc credits: These are ordered and allocated upfront, with the marketing credits rolling over from month to month. Therefore, unused credits stay in Rex until all have been used, irrespective of when the marketing credits were purchased.
Once used, new marketing credits need to be purchased. Adhoc marketing credits are invoiced with the next month's subscription invoice as a once-off additional amount.
What actions use marketing credits?
The actions in Rex that will use marketing credits are as follows:
- Sending Newsletters (Only the contacts over the first 250 will use marketing credits - the first 250 are free)
- Sending SMS from your Rex Account (SMS sent directly from your Rex account will cost marketing credits)(160 Characters = 1 SMS)
Direct and bulk emails sent in Rex will NOT cost you marketing credits. The reason that Newsletter campaigns cost credits is because of the 3rd party service we use to safely send them. This same 3rd party service allows us to receive reports on the sent newsletter (Clicks, opens, etc).
How do we obtain marketing credits?
The principal/account holder of the organisation needs to send through an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to request marketing credits as this has a financial implication on your account. Once we receive this email, marketing credits are added to your account within 24 to 48 hours.
