Before we look at setting up a brand new template from scratch – we’re going to look at modifying a Rex default template.
- From the left side menu, go to Settings > Tracks, Merges & Brochures
- Click Brochures in the left hand panel
- Hover over the template, click the dropdown and click Duplicate
- Name your brochure
- Click Done
Here's a video to assist with the above
It’s then going to ask for your sample Listing, and you’ll see it comes up a bit different to before.
You’ll see your items that you can add into the brochure. We’re going to start by just changing the images around. If you select the first image – you can change the image to what you want it to be.
You can see up the top has changed now that the image is selected. If you click on 'change Listing image', you can change the image to 'image 3', for example and hit ‘done'. That will then change the main image to a different one.
If you want to move the image box around, you can just click and drag. You can resize from the edges as well.
To edit the text, just click on the ad text and then hit ‘edit text'.
What it well then show is the merge tag of what it’s bringing in from the actual Listing.
We're going to change the body which will be the lower text there. You can change the font, size, make it bold etc. Once it’s saved, you can see it’ll carry those changes across. You can also resize the ad text by just grabbing from the edges and dragging.
With the 'key attributes' on the side – when you click on this, new options will appear in the menu.
If you head to ‘edit layout', you can change the icon settings e.g. size, colour etc.
If, for example, you wanted the text to be Black on a White background, we can select it and then change the colour. You can do the same for the address.
I’m going to then delete the rectangle by selecting it and hitting ‘delete'.
Let’s say I change my mind, and I want to go back to having a coloured background with White text. I’ll head back over to the rectangle tool, select it, and you drag across and resize it.
You’ll notice that it’s gone over the top of the text. You can no longer select the text and change the colour. What I need to do is push the rectangle back. Over to the depth tools and push it back once or push it back to be at the very back.
If you click on it, you’ll see the text appear so that you can select it and change the colour back.
You can also manually move the layers as well – here, it shows you all the different options.
This is good for adding in a Listing image – so if you click on ‘listing images', you’ll see all your images available including floor plans and Listing Agent images. All you need to do is click and drag one.
Of course, this will change for your different Listings – each Agents' profile picture will come into here on Listings they're attached to a 'Listing Agent'. You can also add a QR code – click and drag out/move/resize the same as other images.
Let’s say you want to add a layer over the top of your images that said 'sold' or 'new listing’ – we can do that using a .png with a transparent background. Come back to the Listing image up the top – choose 'upload image' on the side and just drag and drop. Click on ‘upload image', and select your image with the transparent background. Open the image and hit 'save'.
At the moment it’s got a Grey fill. We can remove that by going to the 'fill' colour up the top, and choosing 'transparent'.
You can then resize the image, and now we have a sold banner across our main image. This finishes up our look at modifying templates, but you can start to see how you can change elements to reflect how you want them to look.
Here is a short video to take you through how to edit images in a brochure:
