Because your letters will be going into an windowed envelope, you'll need to make sure that your margins, templates and contacts addresses are set up correctly.
Margin Settings
To set your margin settings, you need to:
- Go to Admin > Agency Settings & Branding
- Go to Branding - if you have multiple loctions, choose Locations in the left-hand menu, then open the agency you want to adjust, then into Branding
- We recommend you enter the following at the bottom (you can enter other settings but make sure you test them):
- Margin Left: 20
- Margin Top: 48
- Margin Right: 20
- Margin Bottom: 30
- Click Save Changes
Letter Templates
When building your letters, there are a few rules that you need to rememeber. These will make sure that your letters don't have issues when going into windowed envelopes.
- Always start your letter content text from the very top of the template editing box - don't press the return key to add white space at the top, this is what the margins we set up above are for.
- Use the default text size - if you use something smaller, you'll need to make sure the window only holds the address
- When using the contact's address, the best practice to make sure the Address fits in the window:
- Add the following merge tag: {{contact:address_block}}
- Press the Return/Enter key twice on your keyboard - If the body of the text is too close to the window, use the return key to add another
- Add the rest of your letter
Contacts
In order to be able to send your letters to CRM 2 Print, the contact must have a valid address. If the address is badly formatted or can't be found, the letter will not be sent.
- Always include a postal address or physical address field for a contact if you wish them to receive print marketing down the line (the physical address will be used if the postal address has not been filled out).
- Add the street number and street name on one line, press return and add the Suburb, State, and Postcode on the second. eg:
29B Helen Street
Newstead QLD 4006
